Employee Loyalty
Do you feel loyal to your employer? If offered a job elsewhere, would you take it without hesitation? Would you put in 2 weeks notice?
I know of someone years back, that took a weeks vacation to try out another job, he didn't like the new job so never went back. ( I worked at the new job location, I knew someone at his other place of employment which is how I found out he had done this.)
At our library, we changed directors two years ago. The winds of technology also changed at that time. Our current director is a mild technophobe and tech illiterate. You would think that having both of those traits, you would rely on your "techies", but that isn't the case. The times when I have given an opinion, the director basically ignores them.
So, I am looking for other employment, and considering (should I find something.) whether I should put in a 2 weeks notice, or just tidy up my desk and disappear.
Any opinions out there?
