Problems sleeping? Chances are that one out of ten people to read this is currently suffering from sleeping problems, but only a tiny fraction of them will consider a natural insomnia treatment. The majority of people will continue to not get the sleep they need until the

Went to the 7.4 enhancements talk, the upgrade looks promising. SD claims to have 350 bug fixes wrapped into this upgrade and even more bug fixes for the HIP upgrade. I haven't had a chance to ask if they have fixed circulation so that the blocks screen shows up before the update patron screen, so that you can see if a borrower has a clean record before you renew their card....
The Symphony upgrade presentation was only informative if you haven't been through a migration before.

Day one started with a big surprise as SirsiDynix CEO made the announcement that the move from Horizon to Symphony would be treated as an upgrade, not a migration. Making the move to Symphony relatively free for any Horizon Library. (If you want additional training or additional modules, there will be a cost involved. There are also other conditions.)
SD is also partnering with Brainware to work on faceted searching for their next portal offering.
Tomorrow I hope to play with Sy

I was looking at the hotel information for the Westin convention center where I have booked my room and I want to know why these hotels cannot provide free internet service. Yes, I know it cost money for an internet connection and the hardware to support wireless. But, they build all the costs for other amenities into the cost of a room, why can't they jack-up the room cost another dollar for everyone and give us free wireless?
And another thing, I was looking at my room reservation an

When I first attended the CODI conference, I wasn't sure what to bring for clothing. So, I carried my usual work clothes. (dress pants and dress shirts, because my wife won't let me dress like a "hobo" for work.) I also packed my comfortable clothes.
First morning of the conference, I dressed in the work clothes and headed off to the show. Once there I realized that there is no set dress code. Wear what you need to make it through the day. I wasn't treated diffferently the second day w

I was hoping to go to CODI 2007, but unfortunately it clashes with a couple of other events that I'd been asked to present at (one in the UK and the other in Ireland).
I'll try and repeat what I did last year tho, and bring together all of the blog posts and the best of the Flickr images into one place:

Well its finally my turn! After several years of involvement with the Dynix Users Group in the UK I'm the one going as our representative to CODI! It will also be my first vist to the US - but of course after a lifetime of US TV programmes it feels like I've been there before......
I'm not really sure what to expect. In the UK we get about 80-100 delegates at our annual conferences (more like 150 in our recent joint conference with the Unicorn Users), whereas this is expecting more lik
